What first got you interested in your craft?- I have been folding origami since I was a kid (thanks, Mom), but have only recently gotten into this card-making kick. Incorporating card-making with origami was a great way to combine my two loves. I also really like the thought of sending snail mail to people. It’s rather old school, but a personal touch goes a long way!

Please describe your creative process (how, when, materials, etc).- Hmm, this is a tough question because I don’t think I have a “creative process.” I am inspired by color and try to incorporate as much color into my work as possible. I usually do most of my crafting after work or during the weekends. While I’m crafting, I’m surrounded by lots of colorful paper, paper punches, cardstock, etc. Music is blasting, and my laptop is on so that I can check email/Etsy forums when I need a break.

Apart from creating things, what do you do?- During the work week, I work for a non-profit organization. Some other things that I do during my free time aside from crafting: spinning (It’s an awesome workout!), baking (Cookies, anyone? My specialty is peanut butter chocolate chip cookies), and reading (On my to-read list: The Girls from Ames, New Moon, Harry Potter 7).

kittykatkards_troll_cardIs there anything else you’d like to share?- While I like bringing my own card ideas to life, I also enjoy creating something inspired by someone else’s ideas. This is why I enjoy doing custom orders. My most recent ones have been wedding related, i.e. “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards and table tents for the wedding reception.
