Autism Awareness Puzzle Hat Knitting Pattern
A new study just came out indicating Autism affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys. Help promote awareness of this condition by knitting the Autism Awareness Puzzle Hat.
Sizes:
Children’s S (M, L, Adult)
Circumference 16 (17, 18, 20)”
Materials:
Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice (100% acrylic)
MC: 50g of Navy
A: 50g of Scarlet
B: 50g of Mustard
C: 50g of Dusty Blue
US 8 (5.0mm) knitting needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle
Gauge:
18 stitches + 26 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) while working in stockinette stitch
The pattern is knit flat and uses Intarsia method of color work. There is a separate chart for each of the sizes.

this is a great hat!! I have an 8 year old son who was diagonosed with Autism when he was 3 years old. He was non verbal but with intensive ABA/Verbal behavior thearapy he is now able to attend classes and is making great progress!!!
I totally love love love this hat!! I want to make it so bad. My daughter works with children with autism. Unfortunately I can’t knit!!!! – Any chance of getting a pattern for the hat to crochet? I hope! I hope!
This hat is wonderful!!! I work with students on the spectrum, but regardless, the cause is fablous and the hat is simply fantastic! Hats off (no pun intended!) to the creator. Nicely done!

I am a mom who has Aspergers, and I have two sons who are on the Autism spectrum. 1 is 17 and the other is 6. My 6 yo just informed me he would like a puzzle had because he likes puzzles. I can’t wait to get this pattern and try my hand at intarsia knitting!
This is a beautiful looking hat. My 9 year old has autism and I also work with children in the school system with autism. I ordered the pattern and cannot wait to make it. Thank you so much for designing this hat. It will definetly bring autism awareness.
