Once you have signed up to sell at an online auction, there are a few pointers to keep in mind when you start listing. These pointers will come in handy with all online craft auction sales.




  • Descriptive Titles
    • Titles are very important! This is what the customer sees. it needs to catch their attention to draw them in to see more.
    • Consider this – “Tiger Eye Pendant” OR “Exotic Handcrafted Tiger Eye Pendant” Same pendant, but which one would you visit first?

  • List in the appropriate category.
    • Make sure that you choose the most appropriate category for your items. Customers visit each actegory in search of specific items. By listing in the correct place, you can ensure that you are viewed by a targeted audience.

  • Vibrant Pictures
    • Ever heard the saying, “A Picture is Worth 1000 Words”? Well, this is one of the times when it is true. Pictures sell.
    • Make sure that you have clear lighting, but no reflections.
    • Choose a neutral background, or one that will make your item “pop”.
    • Watch out for shadows.
    • Take a few pictures, and veiw them in a few different types of browsers to see how each displays the colors.

  • Clear Descriptions
    • List as many details about your item as you can. Since your customers cannot see the item in person, describe it as closely as possible.
    • Proofread your description! Try not to leave typos or misspelled words in the descriptions.

  • Clear Shipping Policies & Costs
    • These details should be noted before the sale is ever made. If you chard exact shipping on an item, make a shipping calculator available to allow customers to figure it out before they buy.
